The Lone Ranger, in need of a mount after his Ranger troop has been massacred by the Cavendish Gang, and Tonto rescue an injured wild horse from a buffalo, and the Ranger decides to keep the horse as his own. He clears his old friend Jim Blaine from a false charge of murder and sets him up to live in old silver mine they once worked with the Ranger's now dead brother. The Ranger asks Jim to mold his silver bullets, which he sees will stand for a symbol of "justice by law." The Ranger also breaks up a plot by the Cavendish Gang, who are responsible for a string of local murders, to take over the town.
