The Ranger and Tonto visit ex-convict Roy Hillman in Tylerville. Roy wants to go straight but the town's leading citizen, Jess Tyler continually persecutes Roy. Jess' sister Ann is sweet on Roy and that doesn't improve's Jess' attitude any. Ayers come to a head when Ann angrily moves out of Jess' house. Jess accidentally shoots himself in the leg and heads for the next town where it here is a doctor. But the bigoted townspeople find Jess' blood in the house and immediately want to lynch Roy. It's up to The Ranger, Tonto, the Sheriff, and Ann to stop these murderous haters. Can they possibly locate Jess in time to save Roy? Reliable charter actors Francis McDonald and John Pickard are very good in their roles. Pretty Mary Ellen Kay plays Ann. She also appears in the final episode of the series, "Outlaws in Greasepaint." She has the distinction of being the last person on the series to ask the famous question, "Who is that masked man?" This one is an outstanding episode with a strong message about bigotry. Very good for kids.
