Arne Mason wants to control Mesa Junction and already has several of his henchmen in key government offices. To further his plans, he murders the honest sheriff and frames Jeff Hope for the crime. Jeff had been in jail for a minor offense when Mason forged a note supposedly from one of Jeff's neighbors saying that Jeff's wife Nancy was ill. The sheriff let Jeff out to see Nancy and then was killed. The Ranger and Tonto will have to get help from a couple of the honest townspeople to spring a clever trap on Mason. But this Mason is smart and ruthless. He may have his own trap set up for The Ranger and Tonto. The climax of this episode is a very well done fistfight. Be sure to notice the great background scenery of the mountains whenever there is a riding scene. That makes this good episode even better.
