- MacGyver is taken hostage by some armed robbers at an airport. MacGyver uses his ingenuity to try to free himself along with the other hostages while simultaneously trying to stop the criminals.
- On one of Mac's favorite trips down Memory Lane, looking in vain for his late father's favorite, perfect fishing spot, he gets lost as usual, this time ending up in a diner run by a boy's mother Kelly Nielson. As soon as the other guests lose patience, Mac gets held at gun-point with her and the cook by a bunch of criminals who took over the road café two hours earlier to rob a passing money transport from Dallas. Mac saves the driver's life by making a non-lethal blowtorch to open the 'can', only to see him shot anyhow. Mac now teams up with the other male hostage, Kelly's friend, traumatized Vietnam veteran helicopter pilot Dave Redding, and learns the troublesome fiends' plan to commit a hijack on the adjoining flying school's airstrip, which they try to counter, either obeying to survive or cleverly sabotaging, with more highly original McGyverisms, using anything around...—KGF Vissers
- On his way to a vacation, MacGyver takes the wrong way, and ends up at a small airstrip where everybody seems to be behaving strangely. Too late, he discovers that the airstrip has been taken hostage: he has been caught in the middle of a plane hijacking attempt.—adnyuk
