First appearance by The Magician's recurring (and mysterious) extra: the mature blonde lady, who forevermore shall remain uncredited, interacts famously with Bill Bixby as "atmosphere" player. In a gratuitous scene to showcase the lovely lady, she simply sits at the casino with a drink, next to Tony Blake, and engages in flirtatious behavior, staring at him, and giggling away, to Tony's dismay. She will later be seen running around the casino, holding the skirt portion of her dress up and screeching, after a fire alarm rings. It is speculated that she might also have played the banker, seen from her back, handing out cash to Tony Blake.
The getaway car (Chevy Nova) used by the person trying to kill Max with the crane bears the license number 247 PCE. These seem to show up in many movies and TV series. Another example is Dennis Weaver's Plymouth Valiant 149 PCE in "Duel". In Angel on the Line (1981), Kelly Garrett calls Bosley with the license plate of the car who is following her: it is also 247 PCE. And Falcon Crest featured a Corvette belonging to a lead character with the same 247 PCE. This plate number might have been the motor vehicle equivalent of the fictitious are code (555) for TV and movie phones.
It would appear the character played by Marlyn Mason in See Some Evil... Do Some Evil (1973), some 7 months earlier, was very similar to the one she plays here.
The attempted "murder on the docks via crane dropping cargo on a man" would be recreated exactly a month later in The Deadly Prize (1973).
247 PCE is also Steve McQuerns car in "The Hunters"
