In Hard-Boiled Murder (1997), the writer created a sequel in which Julie Adams, Pernell Roberts, Beverly Garland, and of course Mike Connors all reprised their characters. Joe Mannix is depicted as a friend of Dick Van Dyke's character, Dr. Mark Sloane. During the opening scene, Joe mentions that he only needs Peggy as an assistant - although Gail Fisher, who was still alive, did not appear.
This was the only Mannix (1967) episode to have a sequel. This took place in Hard-Boiled Murder (1997). The death of reporter Reynolds is finally solved by Joe Mannix, Dr. Mark Sloan and Mr. Reynolds' daughter.
Beverly Garland rejoins Mike (then Touch) Connors since they were together in the 1956 movie "Swamp Women".
