Season 4 starts strong.

Warning: Spoilers
You would think that after that explosive premiere, the appeal would wear off. But the 100th episode, offered a rewarding denouement, to all those stories left open in season 3 finale. Kimberly becoming psychotic, is great and that Henry thing is creepy as hell. But it was also unintentionally funny. That's the thing with season 4, it's like a spoof of previous seasons. With exaggerated dramatizations and cheesy one liners. But it's my third favorite nonetheless. The new characters all become randomly evil. Especially Richard, who clearly didn't have a bad bone in his body, until he met Jane... And the Jack Parezi storyline, is a too practical way to redeem how detestable Amanda became lately. But it's one of the best plots of the whole series, that gave season 4 its strongest moments. The Hayley/Alison romance was very satisfying, because they really looked good together, and a perfect way for Alison to make Brooke squirm. And get the ultimate revenge on her. Matt pulling a « Philadelphia » was boring. And his obnoxious new lawyer, didn't help make him more sympathetic. As for Shelly, she's just an obvious Jess 2.0, creating more useless drama between Jo and Jake. Sidney and Michael getting back together though, is wonderfully sick, and really shows how one of a kind they can be. Peter is just there, but I like his concern for Kimberly. Which redeemed him as well. That's the thing I love the most about Melrose Place. People ultimately get what they deserve, depending on how truly good or bad they are. Billy is a joke, there's officially nothing redeemable about this guy. Great establishing shots song.
