All the Minder ingredients in the right mix
Terry inadvertently part of a crime, Arthur pulling a con piled on top of a con, Dave telling porkies to save McCann's skin, Des (should have been in more episodes) part of the scam, and my favorite adversary, Det. Chisholm.

Minder varied wildly from gritty dramatic episodes to light-hearted comedy. Despite the fact Terry gets into nick with the Ol' Bill, this is very much a comedy episode. In fact, Arthur is on fire in this one. Could even be said that this is the episode that pointed Minder in the direction it would largely take over the remainder of its glorious run.

I can never get enough of Patrick Malahide's Chisholm. Playing it straight, yet somehow managing to be the funniest part of every episode he's in. That guy can act.

Caught in the act fact

Great episode of Minder sees Terry put in the frame for an armed robbery after foolishly agreeing albeit unwittingly to deliver the getaway car to the gang on behalf of his mate Des. That not being bad enough he is also hired again unwittingly to mind a posh mentally unstable shoplifter . A side storyline involves a goldfish for clothes story that is played for laughs but again highlights how devious and utterly dishonest Arthur is. It all weaves together to a great court room climax that you just know will end badly for a certain person. With friends like Terry had was it any wonder he was always in trouble? Brilliant episode and an easy 10/10

Caught in the Act, Fact

This is one of the episode's where you think despite all the dodgy associates Terry knows. He just seems to be too trusting or just does not know about all the scams even though he has done time.

First his mechanic pal Des lands him in it when Terry delivers a car that is used in a robbery. His fingerprints are all over the car.

Then Arthur who provided Terry with an alibi for the robbery, gets him to mind Lady Margaret Thompson for a few days. She is a magistrate and a kleptomaniac. As Terry finds out as he walks out from a store with a bag she gave him.

Terry finds himself in the magistrate's court and no one to come to his rescue.

Al least Terry was not involved in the fish for old clothes wheeze. Arthur got someone else for that and it was a nice little earner. Kids love goldfish and raided the wardrobes.
