- All four Monkees fall in love with the same girl, April Conquest, of the local laundromat. Each one tries to woo her by feigning interest in things she likes: Davy paints pop-art, Mickey performs ballet, Peter plays chamber music, and Mike rides a bike.—The TV Archaeologist
- The Monkees go to a laundromat to do their laundry. They are all smitten by the owner of the place, a woman named April. A rivarly breaks out until the guys are hardly speaking to each other.
Each of the guys queries April's family and friends to find out her likes and dislikes. All of the guys show up at the laundromat attempting to be the kind of man she likes. Peter brings in musicians and plays chamber music, Micky does ballet, Mike rolls in on a motorcycle, and Davy paints. April can't make up her mind, causing her to have a nervous breakdown and close the laundromat.
Not wanting to stress April out any further, the guys decide that only one of them can have her. They play a choosing game, and Peter is the winner. Micky, Davy, and Mike go to April's bedside to break up with her and tell her she'll be better off with Peter. April is instantly cured.
Peter gloats as he prepares for a date with her, while the other guys sulk. April arrives at the apartment to say that she can't date Peter anymore because she has found another guy. She and the guy skip off into the sunset, leaving poor Peter heartbroken - until the four of them are visited by four lovely young women who are new neighbors and are looking for the local laundromat.
