efficient breakfast scene is world class unforgettable
askmurphy6 July 2011
If only everyone could see the "efficient breakfast" scene! I have never forgotten it and I long to see it again. It's indescribably delicious! Whoever dreamed up and developed this scene did not realize the pure magic of it's impact. There is a smooth precision of the execution of Margie and Vern moves from the pouring the cereal, adding the milk and serving the coffee. How many times did they have to practice? I personally could never do it no matter how many times I tried. If only I could see it again. I have wondered for years if it is really the way I remembered. The cream and syrup swing on a pendulum. The lazy Susan spins rapidly. You've got to see it to believe it!

Margie dates an Efficiency expert so her father will realize Freddie is ok
RogerMooreTheBestBond10 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Vern continues to complain about Freddie to Margie, He always has a way of annoying him when they spend time together. Margie decides to make a date with an efficiency expert to show him how much worse it could get. Alvy Moore from Green Acres guest stars as Dillard the expert. Vern finds out and convinces Dillard to marry Margie. Margie decides to go to her father and have him act like her mother and explain why she did what she did. Wonderful scene where they are able to make a plan to get rid of Dillard. They set up a scene at the breakfast table where everything they need is tied to a string. Vern and Margie go thru it and eat their breakfast under a minute. They have Dillard try it and he can't handle it and leaves and tells them he is not efficient enough to marry her. Great episode, especially the scene at the breakfast table.
