THE NO TALENT KID? SAY IT ISNT' SO!
tcchelsey12 August 2023
Having grown up on MY THREE SONS, a lot of the stories were relatable. The writers more than likely had kids of their own and tossed in some true to life experiences, which made good sense.

This time around it's all about Ernie. Everyone in the family has dabbled with a musical instrument or two, so why can't he? Object: playing a very, very sqweeky violen. Uncle Charlie becomes his musical mentor, going nuts in the process because Ermie ain't catchin' on. On a positive note, Charlie hooks him up with a "patient" violin teacher, for awhile... The end result: Ermie plays "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," and gives a recital to an "enthusiastic" audience?

Did Ernie adopt the "Thank you, thank you...." from Elvis??? Fred MacMurray playing the sax brings back memories from his old movies, and he ain't that bad. He was the son of a concert violinist, took up the saxophone and paid his way through college playing musical gigs. He also was a singer and got into musical comedies.

Directed by veteran James V. Kern, the man behind I LOVE LUCY; and yes, there was an episode, if you can recall, where Little Ricky drove everybody nuts playing the drums. Sound familiar?

SEASON 7 EPISODE 8 dvd box set.
