UNCLE CHARLEY'S LONG LOST LADY LOVE!
tcchelsey30 December 2023
Steve has a terrific opportunity to do some work in Hong Kong, and why not take the gang with him?

But does Uncle Charley want to go along... It turns out he left a gal pal called Lucy (played by Francis Fong) who he hasn't seen in many, many moons. Lots of memories and regrets. OMG.

This is a good showcase for William Demarest, once again in love, and a very sentimental ride for the old seaman. We all remember this one as kids. Charley also looks fairly dashing, all buttoned up in white! Francis Fong, who was born in Honolulu, was a popular actress at the time, featured in many cop shows, later in KUNG FU. Their scenes together are genuine, and they are the whole show. Very well directed, sort of in the tradition of a mini soap opera.

Look for ever British Maurice Dallimore (as Atherton), playing the family host in Hong Kong. Dallimore was a fun character actor, playing many distinguished officials, if not prim and proper butlers, and making several appearances on BATMAN. George Takei has an early role before STAR TREK fame.

Worth a look for Uncle Charley's colorful past and the good old days. From SEASON 6 EPISODE 12, remastered color dvd box set.
