As usual, several dramatic forces at work. First of all, as Medavoy and Martinez sit in traffic, a guy in the car next to them begins to mouth off. Medavoy pops off (he is edgy because of personal issues). The guy pulls a gun and Martinez shoots him before he can shoot into their car. But the guy's gun disappears. The other has to do with Janice's exceeding guilt over having shot those gangsters. She goes to a priest and then to Fancy to confess, bringing all the legal forces into play. Kelly plays the blame game with her, blaming the priest, and invading her life. He gets tiresome at times and I'm interested in how they will play this.

Kelly, who arranged for and implied, that a female fellow police officer and girlfriend, could remove evidence of a killing of a mobster and the mobster's driver, by her, sends her to a priest for confession, without ever letting anyone know his part in it.
