Nash Bridges never was about the plot or suspense,although they sometimes did manage to have interesting stories and achieve tension. The last two episodes of the fifth season are the most tedious of the series. Most of the cast seems to be working on automatic pilot even when some dramatic events demand them to be more involved. There are very brief scenes that show some emotion. In the earlier episodes when somebody left the show or got killed it got the attention it deserved. For some reason they did not want to that here. (SPOILER!!!) Evan gets killed. Nash hears of this while undercover and has to hide his grief while pretending to laugh at what he heard on the phone. This was a strong moment. But that's what it was a moment. After this he almost doesn't have a problem of Evan being dead. Only Harvey seemed to show that he cared. Dominguez wasn't a real fan of Evan,but even he could do better than his reaction. So it was necessary for him to be killed off. Couldn't they at least have given Evan more screen time in these last two episodes. He barely gets to speak. And when he does say something it barely seems to matter. The only thing we learn that he was happy. Also in Jackpot (1) Angel makes an appearance,but somehow he isn't as mysterious as he was before. He was broken and fragile because he lost his wings. Normally Angel has some influence or connection to the matters at hand. In this episode he was treated more like any other bum. Compared to previous episodes it is obvious that Jackpot (1+2) lacked some serious action,suspense,drama and most important of all soul. For me these were two disappointing episodes.
