  SCU Lt. Daniel 'Dan' Turpin : In a pig's eye!

  Crowd : Yeah!

  [Darkseid glowers at the crowd] 

  SCU Lt. Daniel 'Dan' Turpin : This is our world, ugly! You won't get it without a fight!

  Superman : You hear that Darkseid? The people on Earth aren't like your slaves on Apokolips. They don't take kindly to dictators.

  Darkseid : If they resist, I will not hesitate to destroy them.

  SCU Lt. Daniel 'Dan' Turpin : You wanna piece of me? C'mon! C'mon Rockhead!

  [Turpin tackles one of Darkseid's minions while Maggie and her fellow officer watch on television] 

  Officer : Geez! Is he crazy?

  Maggie Sawyer : Yeah.

  [Cut back to the scene on the street] 

  Darkseid : They know this is suicide.

  Superman : Better a quick death in battle than a slow one under your heel!

  Kalibak : Darkseid! We have detected military aircraft heading this way!

  SCU Lt. Daniel 'Dan' Turpin : [Gathers minion's electric spear]  I don't care how many crummy planets you've conquered! You ain't getting this one!

  [Turpin heaves the spear and frees Superman's left arm, allowing him to break the rest of his restraints as well] 

  Kalibak : No!

  [Kalibak attacks Superman but is easily defeated] 

  SCU Lt. Daniel 'Dan' Turpin : That's one for the home team!

  Superman : [turns to Darkseid]  Let's finish it!

  Darkseid : Very well! This world dies now!

• Steppenwolf : This will be good hunting.

  Superman : You picked the wrong time, pal.

  Steppenwolf : Parademons, attack!

• Professor Hamilton : We've been monitoring the hot zone by satellite. The explosion triggered a meltdown in the power plant's central reactor. It's burning straight through the substrata now. And it will get hotter and hotter until it reaches the Earth's core.

  Superman : What then?

  Professor Hamilton : As this simulation shows, it will explode, setting off a series of violent eruptions which will cover the Earth with more burn holes. I've never seen anything like it.

  Superman : Yes, you have. We all have. On Apokolips.

• Darkseid : You're a magnificent opponent, Superman. But even you must realize it's hopeless.

  Superman : Darkseid.

  Darkseid : I could easily destroy you now. And once you're gone, the pathetic beings of this planet won't have the will to resist me. The few who survive, that is. However, if you join me as my loyal vassal, I could guarantee a modicum of... restraint. Think of it, Superman. The power you have now, it's nothing compared with what I'm offering you.

  Superman : You know I can't do that.

• Professor Hamilton : The radioactive hole is now only a few hundred meters deep. But that's going to increase, and quickly.

  SCU Lt. Daniel 'Dan' Turpin : Shouldn't you be paging your new best friend the buckethead?

  Superman : I was just thinking about Orion.

  [activating the communicator, it fritzes out] 

  SCU Lt. Daniel 'Dan' Turpin : What's the matter?

  Superman : [inspecting it with his x-ray vision]  Fried. Must have been the pulse from the explosion. We're on our own now.

  Professor Hamilton : If the reactor melts through the top mantle, we'll never stop it.
