The radio station is never identified. An establishing shot would imply it to be WABC, but at the time the station's format was exclusively music, though they would transition to a talk format in the early 80's.
Felix takes great liberties with his story of the Babe hitting a home run in 1932 for a young boy in the hospital. The actual event happened in 1926. He came to see the boy after the Yankees lost the World Series against St. Louis in seven games. Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin in 1928, and had no part in the actual story.
