There's a Rhino Loose in the City!
Lunerar20 June 2020
Del explaining his film idea to Rodney and Albert is the best scene in the entire fifth series if you ask me. The episode as a whole starts off pretty good: sometimes the pub banter in some of them can be pretty dull but it's all good here. As the episode unfolds it kind of runs out of steam.

I would have given it a 5 overall but that Rhino loose in the city scene really is a good giggle and ramps it up.

The best of season 5

This episode is the best, i think of season five's Only fools and Horses. Rodders has to write a story and make a film and Del boy decides to help him in every way he can, even if Rodney doesn't want that help! Del has this WONDERFUL idea of a rhino and a beautiful zoo keeper(I wont go any further!).

Meanwhile Boyce and Marline still cant have a baby and Boyce's darkest secret is revealed. Unfortunately its Del who finds out so soon everyone knows. Uncle Albert is very good in this episode and made me laugh a lot. Del boy is at his nosey, cheeky and interfering self. I cant believe Mikey Pearce isn't shown in every episode. Here he is like a younger Del. And thankfully he has a big part in this one. The ending is a bit poor and is hard to understand. But I got it about half way through the credits.

Video Nasty

This for me is the weakest episode of Series five and like a few of the 30 min instalments starts well but then runs out of steam. Knowing as we do that John Sullivan wrote far more material than was needed perhaps there is a longer cut of this somewhere that improves the quality somewhat.

John Sullivan on three occasions across the 'Only Fools' world have one of the character try and write a film, and other than the 'Rock and Chips' effort, none of them really worked for me.

So overall, this is a decent episode that unfortunately despite the best efforts of all involved, never really develops into being much better than that.
