Film from the house dance party was used in the making of the regular opening and closing credit scenes for the series. (opening credits): "Patty likes to rock and roll; a hot dog makes her lose control." (closing credits): "From Zanzibar to Barclay Square".
This is the first of two appearances Frankie Avalon makes in the series, each time playing himself. The second appearance occurs in A Foggy Day in Brooklyn Heights (1965).
The dream sequence footage where Cathy descends the stairs dressed in a gown is the same footage used for the scene in the opening credits that corresponds to the theme song lyrics: "Where Cathy adores a minuet, the Ballet Russes, and a crepe suzette." In the closing credits it corresponds to these lyrics: "Here's Cathy who's live most everywhere."
Cathy claims that the dance she demonstrates comes from a Zambezi tribe in Africa. The Zambezi region is located in the northeast part of Namibia and takes its name from the river that runs along its border, hence the influences of a river culture in the dance.
This is the second of eight credited appearances Timothy Neufeld makes in the series, sometimes as Tim, sometimes, as here, playing Tom, sometimes playing Bill, other times playing an unnamed character.
