In the scene where Brian Potter is outside the Ponderosa in Blackpool, after he moves there is a bunch of flowers attached to the lamppost which have a note 'In memory of Alam, Died 8th December 89'. This is a reference to Coronation Street's (1960) Alan Bradley, who was killed by a tram on the show. However, these flowers are South of the Blackpool Tower (near South Pier), despite the fact Alan Bradley was killed North of the Tower (near a location known as Gynn Square).
The Ponderosa Hotel in Blackpool is in fact the Lyndene, noticeable for its bright blue facade.
Max and Paddy are singing along to 'Is this the way to Amarillo?' - a single performed by Peter Kay. The original is sung by Tony Christie.
