The casebook opens for the duo, this first episode sees investigations into a cheating husband, and a slightly crazed artist.
Music from The Chemical Brothers, out of control, that says it all really, and that's what this episode is, loud, bold, crazy, over the top, but fun.
Now I've never seen the original series, so my thoughts are based purely on what I'm watching here. I really did enjoy it, it's fun, it's clever, and it's nicely made.
I am surprised nobody has reviewed this first episode yet, particularly because it features David Tennant.
The question was always going to be, could the comedy duo act, and the answer is yes, I really enjoy watching the pair, they are good fun, but there's more to it than just humour.
Look out for Mark Gatiss and Steve Pemberton, it really is full of talent. Plaudits naturally go to David Tennant, who is just fabulous, I'm a massive fan, and he is brilliant. Charles Dance is great too.
Enjoyed it, 8/10.
