"Rawhide" Incident Near the Promised Land (TV Episode 1961) Poster

Paul Brinegar: Wishbone

Quotes

  • Wishbone : Ah, nothing but fences. I sure couldn't live in a country like this, all fenced in.

Mushy : Be glad to get into town though. Ain't you excited?

Wishbone : No, I'm saving up.

Mushy : Me too. I haven't had a drop of water for two days. I want to be real good and thirsty.

  • Pete Nolan : You running out on us?

Wishbone : [Mr Wishbone is all gussied up in his smart clothes and top hat]  So what if I am. I came to Sedalia. That's all I bargained for.

Pete Nolan : Listen, you know Mr Favor depends on you more than he does on anybody else.

Wishbone : Who he depends upon is his affair. And where I go and when is mine.

Pete Nolan : Now you wait a minute.

Wishbone : Now, Pete, don't you come a step further.

[Wish is holding a rock in his hand]

Pete Nolan : I'm not going to let you go, and talk it over with Mr Favor.

Wishbone : Oh. I guess you're right. Pete, you know how especially fond of you I am. Well, so you'll know how much I hate to do this.

    Pete Nolan : Do what?

[Wish slams the rock against the side of Pete's head, and Pete collapses while holding his head]

  • Wishbone : People gotta eat, that's what I always say. So, if you can find me a good herd of 2, 3,000, I'll go to $35 a head and glad to.

Mr. Draper : Who'd you say your interests were back East, Mr Smith?

Wishbone : Nolan and Yates, Pittsburg, Cincinnati, all over. You heard of them, of course.

    Mr. Draper : Of course.

  • Pete Nolan : You split my scalp and then you got the nerve to call me a sorehead.

Wishbone : Aw, Pete, you're making a mountain out of a little old bump. Well, I hit you on the hardest part of your head and put a nice soothing compress on it to ease the misery.

  • Gil Favor : What have you been up to in those clothes?

Wishbone : Up to? In these clothes?

Gil Favor : Yeah, up to, in those clothes.

  • Mr. Draper : There's just one thing though.

    Gil Favor : Yeah, what?

Mr. Draper : I can't pay you in cash. We pay in Government paper.

    Wishbone : Government paper?

Mr. Draper : Redeemable in cash 30 days after delivery. Upon presentation in Washington.
