This Rawhide story has E.G. Marshall as a rancher hoping to dump a herd of
cattle on the Gil Favor trail drive of about 200 head. The problem is that his
herd is infected with anthrax, but he wants a quick sale so he can leave the
area and go to St.Louis with his crippled wife Gloria Talbott.
But that's not the only thing he has going. With the herd is drover Dick York who has a nasty drinking problem. York is accused of killing the town doctor Morris Ankrum in a drunken stupor.. Marshall also has some history with York going back a bit.
This is an episode where Eric Fleming watches for the safety of both his herd and his drovers. Marshall is some piece of work, but you do feel a bit sorry for him.
