Two nuns and the drovers save a man found alone, near-death and tied to a torture rack. It turns out that he is a notorious Comanchero (bandit) leader Chappala, who had seen his hold on the gang slipping, so he had tried to abscond with all the gang's money, but was caught and tortured. When the gang returns to find him rescued, the leader goes to the drive to demand Chappala's return to them. The entire trail drive is outnumbered and endangered. The episode is low on action and high on religious sermonizing and angst. Rowdy is refusing to let the guy go, despite the frightened drovers' urging. Chappala wants to leave the drive, and the nuns even offer to take him away with them.
