- Rowdy Yates: Me? You won't have any trouble from me. I been reading this book on how to control my temper.
- Gil Favor: Just so you don't lose your place, you better go into town with me tomorrow morning.
- Desk Clerk: Well, we can furnish you with a complete outfit, sir. Rent or purchase, Mr Favor?
- Gil Favor: You trying to get me to wear somebody's clothes?
- Mrs. North: Who is that man?
- Lewis Lewis: You saw him this morning.
- Mrs. North: Where?
- Lewis Lewis: On the witness stand.
- Mrs. North: I looked at him, now that you mention it. But I really didn't see him, did I?
- Lewis Lewis: Would you like a closer look?
- Gil Favor: You brought Adams' statement. Why didn't you bring Adams?
- Rance: After he signed the statement, he died.
- Gil Favor: Of what?
- Lewis Lewis: The question is not relevant.
- [Rance caresses his gun in its holster]
- Lewis Lewis: Mr Rance, what is your relationship with Mrs North?
- [Sets of eyes look around the courtroom in horror and surprise]
- Lewis Lewis: I withdraw the question.
- Pete Nolan: Hey, Boss, we didn't see you kiss.
- Rowdy Yates: We just got here.
- Wishbone: You know that keg of whiskey we keep for emergencies? Well, those two deputies are now so drunk they won't even have a hangover until next week.
- Pete Nolan: By then we'll have the herd plum into the next county.
- Rowdy Yates: No deputies to worry about there.
- Mrs. North: He's completely devoted to me. It's not the kind of devotion you have to deserve fortunately.
- Wishbone: The only trouble with Rowdy is he don't have a close connection between his brains and his mouth.
