- Rowdy Yates: Well, I'll tell yer, I don't think I can stand the delay. I sure am getting homesick.
- Gil Favor: Abilene you home?
- Rowdy Yates: Well, no, no, it's a large city though, large population. I figure half that population is women and half those women will probably be young women and half those young women will be pretty women.
- Gil Favor: Well, ah.
- Rowdy Yates: That's be home.
- Gil Favor: Well, happy hunting in another half week maybe.
- Helen Wade: Oh, no, Charles, no. Now there'll be blood on all the pretty clothes, there'll be the smell of blood on all the imported perfumes. I couldn't stand that.
- First Drover: Something wrong, Mister Mushy?
- Mushy: This plate! How many times have I told you to wash 'em so clean and shiny that I can see my face in 'em!
- First Drover: Well, what do you wanna do that for? I mean that plate looks pretty clean.
- Mushy: What's that?
- First Drover: That's your thumbmark, Mister Mushy.
- Mushy: The drovers are waiting for their food. Didn't I ever tell you nothing's supposed to hold them up.
- First Drover: Have you?
- Mushy: Well, I mighty well have.
