Hair (#2.17)

Roseanne gets a job in a hair salon to swipe hair but doesn't want to have it because it feels humiliating to her. Yet at the same time she ends up liking being there and accepts it.

I really have trouble understanding what Roseanne finds so humiliating about it. It seems to be a level up from working in a crappy fast food place with a snotty high school looser as a supervisor.

I am very happy she keeps the job. I like the characters that come with it and look forward to see maybe a bit more of them. I was surprised that Iris is Lori Tan Chinn. About 25 years after Roseanne she will get the amazing part of Chang on Orange is the new Black.

Lots of fun moments in this episode. Dan's visit in the hair salon was especially funny. With him finding out how he should cut his hair to get a longer neck.

I love this episode, because for one, and I think I'm in the minority, I really liked Rosanne's hair in that little cut. I thought the salon was a good setup for another group of people to come into the show and kind of wish they would've kept them around longer. What I couldn't understand was why Roseanne felt like that job was so humiliating. Actually, it's a perfectly respectable job and profession. Maybe had she stayed around she could've picked up the skill and that eventually went on to style hair or maybe be the office manager or something like that. I've always struggled with the thought that she felt like she was so much better than the job.
