Pat Gets Thrown Down A Well
hogwrassler17 December 2020
Roy is riding alwith Bullet when he sees two bushwhackers take a shot at Old Granny. Roy and Bullet fight the scumbags, but they both get knocked out and it's up to Trigger to drive the villains away. Granny is unhurt. She is returning from her trapping and is walking to town. Roy, Dale, and Pat are concerned and keep a watch over the eccentric old lady. Pat dresses as Roy and rides Trigger out of town, hoping to attract the bad guys' attention. He does but gets beat up for his trouble and thrown down a well. Bullet has to bring Roy and Dale to rescue him. It turns out that a land broker named Swallow hired the two thugs in order to gain ownership of Granny's land because the railroad is coming through. But Granny won't sell. Roy finds out that Swallow plans to have Granny declared legally insane. Somehow, he has to protect Granny and expose Swallow and his henchmen for the criminal scumbags that they are. Hallene Hill is very good as the feisty Granny. She was 75 years old when this episode was made. Hallene had a long career on the stage and in the movies and on TV. She mostly had small parts. In 1965 she played the elderly saloon girl who says "hi honey" to Lee Marvin when the gang arrives at the Hole in the Wall hideout in "Cat Ballou." She was 88 at the time.
