Clyde Stockton comes to Mineral City with half a treasure map given to him by his late father. His former stepmother, Mame Briggs, has the other half. Two henchmen working for Mame and her new husband, John Briggs try to steal Clyde's half of the map, but Roy intercedes. Eventually, the treasure turns out to be in Howling Dog Canyon. Indian Tom knows where that is and that there is a curse on anyone who sees the treasure. John and Mame and their two henchmen force Tom to tell them where it is. Who is going to wind up with the treasure? Chief Yowlachie makes his only appearance on The Roy Rogers Show as Indian Tom. He was a genuine Indian and his real name was Dan Simmons. He got his start in show business as an opera singer! Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer makes the first of his six appearances on The Roy Rogers Show as Clyde. Denver Pyle and Boyd "Red" Morgan are the two henchmen, roles they often played on Roy Rogers.
