Exciting episode
coltras3522 August 2021
The Osprey is a new experimental plane and was being test-flown by Flight Lieutenant Mike Gregory ( William Gaunt) until his recent court-martial. Now Middle Eastern agents are using Mike to steal the plane, kidnapping his sister Diane. The Saint is on the case, and he is determined to get the sister back, and stop the agents from getting the plane.

This episode would appeal to aircraft enthusiast, not that the whole episode feature those wonderful flying machines. The second half is aerial excitement with Templar and the lieutenant taking opsrey in to the sky before the bad guys get it. A tense scene actually, and the rest of the film very enjoyable with Roger Moore hitting jaws and charming his way with that eyebrow raised.

Interesting Harrier jump-jet hovering scene

Interesting!

This episode, season 5 episode 13, first aired in June of 1967 and is about stolen, top-secret plans for a V/STOL jet.

The fictional episode contains brief footage of what certainly appears to be a real, full sized fighter jet struggling to hover and land. The jet's a familiar one to military aviation fans, it's clearly the legendary Harrier jump jet.

So what's the interesting bit? Wikipedia notes, in it's history of the Harrier, that it's first flight was in December of 1967. Yet IMDB lists the fact that this episode aired in June of 1967, a full six months before the Harrier's first recorded flight.

Anybody know a word that's the opposite of "anachronism"?
