Simon Templar has set his eyes on another thug running a protection racket.

Rick Lansing passes himself off as a legitimate businessman. He is even investing in a play that his wife Iris will appear in.

The rehearsals indicate that it is a lousy play. Iris hates her husband and is having an affair with another actor.

The Saint is drawn in when an elderly man dies, someone Rick tried to extort money from.

Someone is blackmailing Rick and make it appear that it was Simon Templar.

The blackmail plot was clever, the pick up part appeared to be taking the biscuit.

It was still an enjoyable story although another episode that deals with actors and crew backstage. So soon after the story Marcia.

Elaborate but dull

Warning: Spoilers
IRIS is an episode of THE SAINT that involves an elaborate blackmailing plot with Templar at the heart of the shenanigans. It's a middling kind of affair, lifted at one point by some stock fisticuffs but otherwise very much par for the course; only appears by the likes of Ivor Dean and Ferdy Mayne raise it a little. The director is none other than Hammer stalwart John Gilling.
