This episode has two actors who would go on to have eternal associations with the James Bond series. As well as Sir Roger Moore, there is also Shirley Eaton, who would play Jill Masterson in Goldfinger (1964), the Bond girl with the most famous death of all: covered head to toe in gold paint. Eaton would make three further appearances in The Saint.
This installment takes place in the village of Cookham. Not only is Cookham a real place, the actual village was used and is shown as the setting (vs. Pinewood Studios). A picturesque village on the River Thames in Berkshire, Cookham has little changed in the 60 years since this was filmed.
Simon's drinks in this episode: a pint of beer in the pub (as he describes it, "warm, nourishing and very British") and later, the pub's landlord (aka bartender) mixes him a Manhattan cocktail.
