Steven Seagal misunderstood what hosting duties meant and showed back up to 30 Rock the next Monday for another week of work.
Steven Seagal was banned from the show after this episode because he was reportedly difficult to work with and wouldn't approve of the sketches. The episode was also removed from reruns. During the monologue from Nicolas Cage/Bobby Brown (1992), Nicolas Cage said he thought he was "the biggest jerk who's ever been on the show" and Lorne Michaels quipped "No, no. That would be Steven Seagal."
The Daddy's Girl sketch in which Steven Seagal plays a protective father was tried out during Dennis Hopper/Paul Simon (1990), with Dennis Hopper playing the father, but cut after dress rehearsal.
Photographs shot during dress rehearsal reveal that Chris Farley played a part in the "All Star Celebrity Tribute" sketch that does not appear in the broadcast version. Presumably, he played Louie Anderson, who is still mentioned at the start of the sketch.
