Katie gets a job shampooing hair for the fictional Jean-Paul who, according to Maria, cuts hair for two of the female cast members on Friends (1994), a series that remained with the exact same six cast members (who appeared in every episode), with no additions to the cast. This cultural milestone made Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993) a polar opposite, as the series was notorious for numerous cast changes literally every season (in addition to the return of Dustin Diamond), making Dennis Haskins the only cast member to have appeared in every episode of the series.
Katie's boss cuts hair for some of the cast members on Melrose Place (1992) (single-camera serial drama) and Friends (1994) (multi-camera romantic comedy). Although these two shows are polar opposites, they ironically both revolve around a group of friends in their 20s and 30s who live in the same housing complex. In addition, the cast members are credited in alphabetical order, a rarity in situation comedies/dramas, as the alphabetical format typically applies to sketch comedies.
