- Cally Henshaw: I never met a man I couldn't seduce if I wanted to. Slater was easy with a capital E. I just didn't set my sights on you. Maybe I should have. I could have got you to do the big nasty *real easy.*
- Sgt. Chris Lorenzo: I'm sorry, lady, not me. I know where you've been.
- Cally Henshaw: You say that now. You're all alike. It's all rape, no matter what they whisper in your ear.
- [sighs]
- Cally Henshaw: They all wear such big important fronts. Macho mess, so proudly. Comes right down to all they want is scratch and sniff. My father was like that. Big man.
- [with distaste:]
- Cally Henshaw: Respected.
- [shakes her head]
- Cally Henshaw: Ugly hands.
- [sighs]
- Cally Henshaw: Such ugly hands.
- [scoffs]
- Cally Henshaw: There was only one place you ever wanna put them.
- Sgt. Rita Lee Lance: Did Mark Richards have ugly hands?
- Cally Henshaw: He was as pathetic as everyone else. You know, he actually thought that I would leave Foster and go away with him. I never would have left Foster.
- Sgt. Rita Lee Lance: Why? Was he different?
- Cally Henshaw: He was the worst.
- [with sigh:]
- Cally Henshaw: But we had an ironclad prenup. I couldn't get anything till he died.
- Sgt. Chris Lorenzo: So you got Mark Richards to come into your house, and help you...
- Cally Henshaw: It was easy. Mr. Gun Club. I told him Foster would be in Miami that night, so we could play one of our little night games. I told him to call me and leave dirty messages and then pretend to be an intruder.
- Sgt. Chris Lorenzo: Did you had Foster play the same game?
- Cally Henshaw: [chuckles merrily] Yeah. Isn't that a hoot?
- [is very pleased with herself]
- Cally Henshaw: I mean, it didn't matter who killed who. At least I would be rid of one of them.
- [shakes her head]
- Cally Henshaw: You know, all men are so easy. It's like their brains are in their pants.
- [both Chris and Rita are stunned by her blatant unrepentant display]
- Cally Henshaw: Take Foster. I knew I could make him crazy enough to try and shoot a cop. Hey, it's on the news every day. Someone didn't even think of the gun and thirty-seven bullet holes later, all that's left of the poor slob is a chalk outline.
- [vulpine smile to Rita:]
- Cally Henshaw: By the way, nice shooting, sweetheart.
- Sgt. Rita Lee Lance: You're a sick woman.
- Cally Henshaw: Hey, babe, I was just working with what's available. Human nature did the rest.
- [brushes back her hair with her hands]
- Cally Henshaw: Anybody got a cigarette?
- Foster Henshaw: [meeting a woman in a bar] So, what are you doing the rest of the afternoon?
- Cally Henshaw: Aren't you supposed to ask my sign first?
- Foster Henshaw: I'll bite. What's your sign?
- Cally Henshaw: 'Will have sex for money.'
- Foster Henshaw: How much money?
- Cally Henshaw: One thousand dollars.
- Foster Henshaw: Sounds cheap at twice the price.
- Cally Henshaw: Good, then make it two thousand. I don't come cheap.
- Foster Henshaw: [re vivacious outrageously-sexy red dress woman at bar] What's her story?
- bartender: Wild turkey. Straight up.
- Foster Henshaw: Is she a player?
- bartender: [looks at her] I don't know. First time in here.
- Foster Henshaw: Send her a gobble. Let's see if she spreads her feathers.
- [they both chuckle]
- Cally Henshaw: [they get romantic] I've missed you. So, where's the big man then?
- Ula Kurtz: Zoning commission. He'll be busy all afternoon.
- Cally Henshaw: [chuckles] Great. We've got some time then.
- Ula Kurtz: [on phone to Cally, just after Chris left] Hi, sweetie, it's me. That cop just left here. Look, I think we've got a loose end.
