The Reflector
AaronCapenBanner26 May 2015
First episode of the second season begins with an unusual auction among four bidders for an atomic bomb that goes for 65 million dollars, to be delivered by a traitor in Oscar Goldman's(Richard Anderson) organization. Steve Austin(Lee Majors) is assigned to intercept a truck carrying a vital nuclear reflector needed to complete the bomb, but enemy agents are already ahead of him, leading to his capture, and holding him as a hostage, as it will come down to the wire as to whether or not Steve can once again save the day... Acceptable if unremarkable season opener is interesting and exciting, but such lax security on OSI's part is bewildering!

Had me until the end

Not a bad episode, but the ending is a little unbelievable...even for a TV show. I won't give it away, but the order of the handling of the situation (saving the day vs communicating with authorities) was out of whack. It did not need to be as "thrilling" as the writers tried to make it.

Nuclear Alert
coltras354 September 2023
When a tactical atomic bomb is sold for $60 million by auction on the international black market, one of the losing bidders reports the fact to Oscar Goldman, head of the OSI. Uncertain of whether the seller is in possession of such a device or plans to steal the necessary parts, Goldman arranges an urgent conference with high-ranking representatives from both the US military and science community.

Suspecting that the seller has not yet gotten all the required parts together, Steve Austin volunteers to protect the suspected last missing part fresh from the factory, a reflector fuse, and is up against Steve a group of government conspirators who have assembled an atomic bomb from stolen parts.

A lively episode that moves towards a cliff hanging scene with a bomb ready to go off and the good guys ready to down the plane carrying Steve Austin and a doctor as well as the conspirators- it's well done, suspenseful and shows Austin at his most resourceful.
