As a result of the political sensitivities regarding its content, most ITV regions omitted this episode from the original run of The Six Million Dollar Man on UK television in the 1970s.
The fictional country of Balinderry is clearly modeled after Ireland, particularly after Northern Ireland during "The Troubles". The fictional IBA appears to be modeled after the IRA, but since the IBA is shown in this episode to be a sympathetic group, all names had to be changed in order to avoid showing favor to a group that has been deemed by some to be a Terrorist organization.
