'Waiting for Edward' is probably the most scattered interview in cable late night. Space Ghost has the attention span of a gnat, drifting to Zorak's keyboard, Moltar's Total Devastation Sale, mugging for the camera . . . while Denis Leary just sits there taking it all in. Hilarious results are produced when this host gets bored.
This was my first exposure to "Space Ghost: Coast to Coast" and his terrible interview skills (not to mention his telling of how he beat up Charlton Heston once) had me in a fit of laughter. I can't explain why I never stayed with the show beyond this episode, but this little nine-minute piece of splendor is one of my favorite things on TV. Ever. And Space Ghost ices the cake by telling some random kids how he saved Christmas.
Rife with non-sequiturs, completely nonsensical, yet polished as if this is all standard procedure.
Absolutely brilliant.
10/10
