Not bad!
mm-3929 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Not bad! A Cafeteria Line has a soap opera style storyline of un popular Patty gets to star in a play with the popular Vinnie: Vinnie is having romantic problem Jenifer, thus creating false hope for Patty. Patty is the the Titanic style character who hits the ice burg in many of the Square Peg stories. Well, the main story of A Cafeteria Line is predictable. The real gem is the side stories. Johnny slash is the hilarious out of touch New Waver. Johnny's audition is so so totally cool! Everyone knew a Johnny in High School! The drama/ director /teacher is hilariously off the wall. A Cafeteria Line is going be the next Broadway hit, but in reality just another forgettable high school play. But not for the deranged director. So the cast school is tortured by the hilariously ridiculous drama teacher. A character you either laugh or cry about for there is no middle ground with drama from the drama teacher. Reminds me of the screaming music teacher for the Christmas concert. Sounds like 5 year olds screaming no matter how many rehearsals. Well let's say the strong side moments save A Cafeteria Line, and makes for a memorable episode. 7 stars.

A Great High School Musical

Patty and Vinnie get the lead roles in school musical play.

A hilarious episode, one of the best. Craig Richard Nelson is excellent as the flamboyant drama teacher Mr Spacek. The play is a musical about a drama teacher and his shy student. Vinnie gets the lead by singing "New York New York".Muffy gives Patty and Lauren the nicknames String Bean and Fang. There are funny auditions for Marshall (he does a Rosanne Rosannadanna impression) and Jennifer. Patty finds out she must wear her glasses for the role and also kiss Vinnie. We have to wait till the end to hear former Broadway "Annie" star Sarah Jessica Parker's beautiful singing voice.
