This TNG episode is the only one to feature a Jefferies tube which is large enough to walk upright in. Before this, they were simply known as access chute, access tunnel, or service chutes.

Roga Danar is discovered by the Enterprise after Commander Riker suggests that he may be hanging over the planet's pole, allowing the magnetic field to confuse their ship's sensors. In the season 2 episode Peak Performance (1989), it is revealed that Riker used this same strategy while serving aboard the Potemkin.
The shirts worn by the members of the Angosian Senate were the turtlenecked men's shirts from the Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) Starfleet officers' uniforms.
