- General O'Neill is still in the early days of commanding the SGC and faces a major problem when newly arrived Russian Col. Alexi Vaselov collapses in his quarters. Dr. Brightman's belief that Vaselof may be contagious seems correct when Daniel, who was with the Russian when he collapsed, apparently goes mad and tries to leave the base through the gate. O'Neill locks down the SGC but the problem isn't contagion: the essence of Anubis is alive and well and seeking a new host.—garykmcd
- Novice base CO General O'Neill tells Russian hero Colonel Alexi Vaselov, an avid SG-1 fan, he won't be considered to join, at best after full training, nor is another selected yet. Shortly after talking to Dr. Jackson, Vaselov falls gravely ill, and Daniel must be constrained, having shot two guards. Investigation show it's no disease but horrible side effects of now immaterial Anubis, who seeks to invade hosts to resurrect his empire -which requires returning through the stargate- and he seeks revenge by blowing up the base. To stop him, although unable to simply spot him quickly, a sectioned blockade of the base is organized, but he seems to outsmart the plan by well-chosen host shifts.—KGF Vissers
- Colonel Alexi Vaselov arrives at the SGC and soon becomes ill, after talking with Jackson. When General O'Neill tries to have Daniel put in quarantine, he starts shooting, wounding two guards. Carter and base doctor, Dr. Brightman, determine that what made Vaselov ill and Jackson start shooting wasn't a disease: it was Anubis, attempting to return to his empire and get a new body to possess. O'Neill places the SGC under lockdown as SG-1 and the SGC attempt to force Anubis into some type of action. But the plan backfires, and soon nobody can be trusted.—timdalton007
