Trap
Prismark1021 March 2020
The Trap sees Regan in trouble. Cracking a robbery case of a dairy got him a valuable promotion five years ago.

Now some journalists are targeting Regan for being corrupt and they have a snout holed up in a hotel who has had a financial inducement from the press.

Regan needs to get at the truth and he keeps Haskins out of the loop.

The actual robbers are out of prison and they also pressurised the snout to tell a different story.

Some well known faces in this episode. Polly Perkins plays a club entertainer who found fleeting fame in the BBC soap Eldorado.

Geoffrey Whitehead plays one of the people who wants to nail Regan. He is better known for his appearances in Still Open all Hours and Not Going Out.

Brian Hall was in Fawlty Towers. Kenneth Colley was in Star Wars and Bernard Kay was in Doctor Zhivago.

The final scenes where a bunch of tough police guys raid the robbers consists of an array of stuntmen and hard looking extras.

Another Regan's-Job-Threatened Episode
TheFearmakers26 June 2021
Like the first theatrical SWEENEY! This is basically a Regan solo episode with a dash of Carter... For it's the first whose being blackmailed from a former robbery and the whole sting he's being stung by is a bit complicated, but there's enough intrigue and suspense and from Thaw intensity makes this a somewhat intriguing episode...

An episode we've seen before and will again... Since Regan goes against the rules and follows his own instincts (call him Dirty Jackie), he's sporadically threatened to be fired, by Haskins or someone higher up or in this case a former criminal... It even happened a few episodes back with Big Brother, then the film Sweeney!, and even the final season's finale... The pioneers take the arrows.

Spot the familiar face

Warning: Spoilers
A nondescript episode. The plot is focused around events of Regan's past and as usual this seems to be a reason for a bunch of thugs and tough guys to show up and cause trouble. Plenty of action and guest stars including Sydney Tafler make it enjoyable, but the writing's not as slick as it should be.
