Ann is having trouble sleeping at night since a new unknown neighbor is playing eerie organ music late at night, the music reminiscent of "Phantom of the Opera". When Ann can sleep, she is having nightmares because of the music. When Don suggests that Ann confront the neighbor, he and Ann find a kindly old man named Everett Valentine, a former movie hall musician whose life faded into obscurity with the advent of talking pictures. As he seems to live for his old life and memories of the silent movie era and its films, Ann doesn't have the heart to tell him to stop playing his organ. She believes that both her and his problems can be solved if she can find Mr. Valentine a job playing the organ. When Ann's quest for Mr. Valentine proves fruitless, Don has another idea: that he write a human interest article for the magazine about him. Don and Ann don't want to tell Mr. Valentine about the possible article until it is a done deal. However, the notoriety from such an article may not be exactly what Mr. Valentine is looking for.
