In 1935, Claude Rains made a wonderful film called "The Clairvoyant" in which he plays a phony psychic who suddenly begins seeing the future for real. The problem is that folks don't believe him and he generally seemed unable to stop these horrible events from occurring. It was a dandy film...one of the better ones of the era. I mention this because "The Prediction" is pretty much a remake of this film...and, it's also well worth seeing.
As I mentioned above, it's about a phony psychic who inexplicably CAN suddenly seem to see the future...at least bad stuff in the future. It works so well because the show's host, Boris Karloff, is also the star of the episode...and Karloff did star in a small number of them. Why did I like him so? Because he seemed like such a sweet and caring man and his predictions greatly troubled him....and the acting was supurb. I'd give the film a higher score but cannot because it just isn't original...but still, it packs a great emotional wallop.
