The comedy segment is "Stump the Band". Jim Valvano recalls his victory celebration when his N.C. State team won the NCAA basketball championship. He also tells a story about being tongue-tied when he met Joe DiMaggio. Shirley Horn, jazz vocalist and pianist, performs. John Candy and Maureen O'Hara come out together to talk about their film "Only the Lonely". Johnny is clearly more interested in O'Hara. She explains why she left pictures 20 years earlier to enjoy life with her husband (a pilot and aviation executive) and how she decided to do this movie. She raves about Candy's acting talent; a clip from the movie is shown. She then talks about her earlier movie "Miracle on 34th Street", and how children recognize her from that role. John Candy talks a bit about his ownership of the Canadian Football League team the Argonauts.
