Just before Gart Williams enters the restroom, the office assistant tells him his boss wants to talk to him. He uses the phone and hangs the receiver up backwards (cord across the dial). When he returns to the desk, after breaking the mirror, the receiver is hung up correctly.
At approximately 15:53, Gart raises the window shade in the train car to reveal the bandstand in Willoughby. There appears to be a fairly large crowd outside the bandstand, as well as inside. Then the frame cuts to outside but now there's only an elderly couple with a parasol, a child on a bench and a sparse bandstand. The frame then cuts back to the original scene showing the large crowd of people both inside and outside the bandstand.
When Gart tells his wife about his dream, she sits with a drink in her hand but then gets up holding a cigarette. Seconds later, while climbing the stairs, Janie is no longer holding a cigarette.
Several times, a crossing gate bell is heard during the train trips. In reality, there are no grade crossings on the New Haven RR line between Grand Central Terminal and Union Station in New Haven.
The last day at his office, Gart calls in his secretary. She keep insisting he see Mr. Misrell. Gart runs into his washroom, but when he comes out, the secretary is gone. If it was so urgent to see Misrell, she would still be there.
