Anne Forrest inherited some money and purchased a run down school. Two years on, her marriage to husband John has broken down, and the school is empty, despite her best efforts. Anne begins hearing children's voices.
Writer Peter Hammond comes with a degree of pedigree, apart from working on Torchwood, he penned some of the best episodes of Midsomer Murders, including Bad Tidings, Death and Dreams and Things that go bump in the night, so when it comes to a ghost story, he had the formula, sadly this wasn't a success.
I'm going to credit the acting, you cannot find any fault with either John Duttine or Miranda Richardson, the pair are excellent throughout, sadly the script they're both working with is a shocker.
It doesn't actually go anywhere, it's pure melodrama, there are some interesting concepts, but none of them are realised, it doesn't go anywhere.
There's a little bit of atmosphere, and being someone that went to school in the 1980's, it brought back a few memories, school life was a little grim back then.
Some nice ideas, just a little dull.
5/10.
