This is the last title worked on by Willy Vanduren, the show's co-creator and original director. He had formed a well-oiled machine with Ghent based screenwriter Frank Van Laecke who also wrote Vanduren's last title. The latter left in 1995.
The title can seem like it was scheduled to be the show's last ever title back in the day, based on its storytelling - everything is well that ends well - but was eventually renewed for a fourth season. VRT had ordered two additional seasons after the success of the first season but its further future had been uncertain. The screenwriter and script editor Luc Beerten had foreseen three seasons and that it might have well ended after that.
Johnny De Coensel is the only player of the soccer team to be seen in the cafe during this title. Apparently, Johnny brought some of his friends from his cycling club with him, played by extras who were never seen on the show before. Xavier (Johny Voners) asks him to pass his beer on so he can pour it over Carmen's head.
The title covers a whole day in the story so most characters wear the same clothes, apart from Pico who exchanges his gray suit for casual clothes. Dimitri, Oscar and Pascale first wear night gear, then their daytime clothes. Contrary to Pico, Doortje keeps wearing her prom outfit.
The very last time the character Pico Coppens is the central character, that is, the title's plot entirely revolving around him. In some fourth season titles, he would often act as a supporting character rather than as a main character. Although he was still billed as a main character until the character's departure due to Walter Michiels's dismissal, compared to the other characters Pico visibly became less relevant during the fourth season. Michiels had a difficult time performing and he would look either scarred or unkempt (from his drinking), or both, in most of the season four titles.
