The interviews and many reports seeked to be controversial, successfully attracting a large audience (to the surprise and envy of the big networks.) Because of a special report about Marcial Maciel, this newscast and the whole programming suffered a boycott from advertisers.
The show included a humorous section in which opera singers played musical satires to make fun of the political characters and events of the day.
The national soccer team coach Ricardo Lavolpe walked out of an interview, when Carlos Albert the sports section anchorman tried to push him to the limit with a series of aggressive questions.
The advertising boycott and the owner's business deals that went wrong forced the journalists to keep working without pay until the TV station went to other owner who made a hostile takeover finishing the whole programming and this newscast.
A group sent by the future owner of the TV station assaulted the broadcast center on Chiquihuite Hill, north of Mexico City at night. It was being reported by the news team from the Mexican WTC building until the transmission was abruptly ended by the invaders in Chiquihuite. Reporters then went to ask President Vicente Fox what was he going to do to restore legal order. The President said "Why me?" a phrase by which he is still remembered to this day.
