Terry Wogan referred to the involvement of Paula Yates in the early shows in his 2000 autobiography, "Is it me?". Terry recalled "having a co-host for the first couple of programmes - well, a hostess actually. It was Paula Yates - bouncy, bubbly and way ahead of her time. Too hot for the BBC to handle."
None of the first series episodes made the BBC1 Top Ten, which wasn't unusual given its post-watershed schedule. However, the first edition to make the BBC1 Top Ten was Episode #2.12 (1983).
It was stated in The Stage (29th April 1982) that the plan for the first series was to record each Tuesday night show the previous day, except for episodes 6 and 7, which were scheduled to be recorded on the Saturday before transmission.
