This past summer filmmaker Kendal Sinn first unveiled the details of his Shadow Falls Memorial feature film, and today he provided Dread Central with an update and a first look at the flick's red-band trailer. Read on for more!
Shadow Falls Memorial is ready for its next round of screenings, and the picture is locked. After premiering to a standing ovation at the Fright Night Film Festival in Louisville, Ky, director Kendal Sinn is ready to expand his feature film across the world. As Sinn says, "It's getting close to Halloween, so it seems like a good time to unleash this thing!"
Based on the acclaimed web series "Shadow Falls", the film concludes a story Sinn has been working on for over 10 years. As you may recall, the "Shadow Falls" series aired on various websites from 2004 to 2007 and was released on DVD by Elite Entertainment in January of 2007. "I wanted...

Our working relationship with writer/director Kendal Sinn and his frequent collaborator Patrick Rea goes back several years, just about to 2001, which is when Sinn first started conceptualizing Shadow Falls, an Internet horror/sci-fi serial about eerie goings-on in a creepy Kansas town. His end goal was to have 36 short films and then finish with a feature. Instead of working on the shorts, however, Sinn jumped ahead to the finale, and thus, we have Shadow Falls Memorial.
Why the change in plans? His first season of short films about “Shadow Falls, Kansas” was a critical and popular hit when it debuted online in 2003, and Season Two was supposed to go up in 2006. But things didn't work out that way, and Sinn decided to end the series to focus on other films. He explains, "I got married [to producer Sally Cummings] and we had a baby, and [while] we were shooting all of these other films,...

Patrick Rea of SenoReality Pictures sent along a couple of photos from his latest short genre film, a collaboration with fellow Lawrence, Kansas company Free State Studios called Mrs. Brumett’S Garden. The movie, which Rea compares to vintage Twilight Zone, focuses on an elderly woman (Shirley Wagner) who claims to be talking to fairies in her garden.
“The story seems innocent at first, but has a dark edge to it,” Rea says of Garden, which also stars T-Max Graham. Currently in the editing stages, the short will be scored by genre composer Harry (Friday The 13th) Manfedini. The busy SenoReality is also finishing up postproduction on another supernatural short, the comedically oriented Misfortune Smiles starring Jeff (Pumpkinhead) East, and has two more minimovies—Now That You’Re Dead, with Jennifer Plas from Rea’s feature The Empty Acre, and Next Caller, toplining Allan (Night Of The Creeps) Kayser—doing the festival circuit.

Growing up in the South, I never saw horror fests or film fests anywhere near me. But nowadays the lucky folks in Louisville, Kentucky, have the Fright Night Film Fest to enjoy.
The 4th Annual Fnff is being held this Friday, August 15-Sunday, August 17. Guests include Mick Foley, Angus Scrimm, Reggie Bannister, various Halloween, Chainsaw and Friday the 13th stars, Tiffany Shepis, and more, along with a reunion of Wednesday and Cousin It from "The Addams Family"! But the meat of the show is its film slate, and a good chunk of the lineup includes offerings from Patrick Rea and SenoReality Pictures including:
"Now That You're Dead" (Short) Friday Night at 11:30 (Screen 4)
The Empty Acre (review) (Feature) Saturday at 3pm (Screen 1)
"Paint Shaker" (Short) Sunday at 12:30pm (Screen 1)
"Torture Porn" (Short) Sunday at 2:30pm (Screen 1)
"Prisoner Exchange at Bannon's Lookout" (Short) Sunday 3:30pm (Screen 1)

We're pleased to announce that Dread Central is home to the online premiere of one of our favorite indie filmmakers' new short, "Now That You're Dead!" Writer/director Patrick Rea was kind enough to provide DC with access to his latest venture, which he describes as "a dark-humored battle between a cheating husband, a mistress, and a murderous wife with a supernatural twist."
"Now That You're Dead" is a SenoReality / Free State Studios production that was shot in the Lawrence, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri, area. The cast includes Jennifer Plas, who also appeared in Rea's debut feature length film, The Empty Acre (review), Meagan Flynn, and Aaron Laue.
Currently Rea is working on getting the balance of funding together for his sophomore feature, Nail Biter, and promises more news on that front shortly. In the meantime, dig on "Now That You're Dead," and keep it here for updates.
